G’Day and welcome to

Western Australia!

WA is a taste of real Australia. This is the country’s final frontier. Taking up a whopping one third of the entire continent WA is so remote that the vast majority of its major cities, including the stunning capital Perth, are located closer to Jakarta, the first city of Indonesia, than to Canberra.

But don’t let this act as any sort of deterrent. Without doubt Western Australia is one of the most spectacular regions the country has to offer, with breathtaking and often untouched surroundings and a whole host of mind bending adventures and experiences for you to enjoy.

One of the best features of WA in recent times has been its thriving economy. The massive mining industry and the shortage of skilled labour means that WA really is – pardon the pun – a gold mine for those looking to cash in. Providing you are willing to work in some fairly remote areas this is the prefect place to earn a heap of cash very quickly, plus you’ll have the chance to work in some truly amazing locations.

Without doubt the hub of WA is Perth. A glorious metropolis sprung out of the true Australian country, the city is baked in almost endless sunshine, with refreshing sea breezes and with hardly a hint of rain. This makes Perth the ideal location to either visit or base yourself for you adventures in the west.

A saunter down the Swan River from Perth lies the dazzling Fremantle – affectionately known as ‘Freo’ to the locals. As a port city this is one of the most popular destinations on the west coast and combines the marvels of modern day living with a distinctly traditional charm and character.

If you can think of nothing better than spending hours on end tanning yourself on a pristine golden beach, or better still you fancy yourself as a bit of a surfer, then you need look no further than WA. Forget the overcrowded waters of Bondi and other inner city beaches, the west coast boasts some of the country’s greatest locations for sand and surf. Better still you won’t have to fight for a place to lay your towel and esky as most beaches are all practically deserted.

If you head to the southern part of WA you’ll not only find tall timber forests that stretch right the way to the beautiful coastline, you’ll also come across some of the best wineries in the world. With its Mediterranean climate the region is ideal for grape production, helping make some of the most revered grog to come from these shores.

To the north lies the world famous Monkey Mia with its notoriously people friendly dolphins. On from there is the most bio-diverse marine area in planet earth, Ningaloo Reef, where you can take a dip with the mighty Whale Shark. Alternatively inland WA has a number of delights on offer, with amazing national parks such as Karijini and Millstream.

Feel free to read on and take in what real Australia has to offer.
